Wines that go well with salads – Several wines that go well with vegetables

For years, choosing wine for salads was considered quite difficult, due to the belief that lettuce spoils the taste of the drink. Indeed, tract vegetables only as an addition to the main course could make a discouraging impression in combination with alcohol. However, nowadays, when our approach to them has definitely changed, and a salad with a properly selected composition can even be the whole dish for lunch or dinner, wine that matches vegetables will be a perfect complement to such a meal. How to choose the right wine for a salad and which ones do we particularly recommend?

How to match wine to vegetables?

Due to the delicate taste of vegetables, the accompanying alcoholic beverages should also be light and fresh. The most recommended wines for salads are therefore white varieties, with a refreshing taste and high acidity. In this way, we will properly combine the sour flavors of the salad with the corresponding alcohol. Our Winoland wine shop recommends the following white wines on our sale:

Giannitessari Pinot Grigio

Originating in Italy from the Veneto region, Giannitessari Pinot Grigio white wine with a fresh and light taste and aroma and natural sweetness, which comes through with slightly more sour notes. Gaining more and more popularity in recent years, the Pinot Grigio grape is characterized by an intense, clean and strong aroma, which is perfectly felt in Giannitessari. However, it also has delicate rustic notes, which makes this species great not only as an addition to salads, but also shellfish and seafood< /a>, as well as slightly more intense flavors of mushroom dishes. Due to its delicacy, Gianitessari is also served as an aperitif.

Welschriesling Bauer

Austrian wine from the Niederösterreich region of the late-ripening Welschriesling variety, especially valued if grown in Italy, Hungary or Austria. Welschriesling Bauer has a straw, transparent color, an interesting texture and the aroma of wildflowers and apples seasoned with a crisp note of lime. The taste can be felt wild gooseberry, grapefruit, lime, as well as pulp apples, which can bring to mind carefree days of childhood. Delicacy, perceptible fruit aroma and appropriate acidity of Welschriesling Bauer make it an excellent wine, recommended as an addition to spring cuisine, full of delicious spring vegetables, fruit salads or Viennese schnitzels. In Austria, it is also served as a refreshing G’spritzer, with sparkling water added.

Orchard Lane Sauvignon Blanc

An extremely exquisite wine proposition from New Zealand, from the Marlborough region – Orchard Lane Sauvignon Blanc – which is characterized by excellent balanced, intriguing and alluring aromas of ripe peaches, apples, exotic passion fruit and crisp lemongrass. The wonderful taste of juicy fruit has been broken in this New Zealand wine with a delicate acidity, thanks to which Orchard Lane Sauvignon Blanc will skilfully emphasize the taste of cheeses, fish and salads.
