Description

This iconic fortified wine produced in Madeira is virtually indestructible, as the method of production has not changed in hundreds of years. Ferraz Medium Rich is distinguished by its beautiful and interesting light amber color with golden highlights. In the nose, the characteristic Madeira aromas of nuts, dried fruits, toffee, molasses and lots of wood. This richness of flavor comes from the fact that the wine remains in barrels for at least seven years. It is strong like port, but with a softer texture. The taste is generous and moderately sweet, smooth, with fruit in good balance with a citrus backbone. It is an excellent addition to desserts, especially fruits, cakes, chocolate, dried fruits, but also soft cheeses. It also tastes good as a beverage served on its own, at the end of a meal.
