Stunning. A true Porsche among wines. The intensity encapsulated in this bottle is simply impressive. A 24-month maturation in barrel combined with 12 months of aging in bottle yielded an impenetrable red color, falling into garnet. The aroma is incredibly complex, straightforwardly heavy with cherries, cherry liqueur, dried plum, vanilla and high-quality tobacco. In the second place one senses black pepper, cloves and cinnamon. The taste of coffee, cocoa and cherry juice is left on the tongue. A spectacular, wide and long sip, in which alcohol and freshness dominate, leaves an unforgettable impression. Tannins still vibrant, but well blended. Short and to the point: it’s definitely worth a try. Amarone has such a strong personality that it doesn’t need company at the table. If you absolutely want to combine it with food, you will need a dish with a strong flavor. It could be a venison stew, or a noble roast with truffle sauce. Well, and you should unconditionally try the legendary risotto all’amarone – rice stewed in this very wine. An unearthly delight!
